The Rectangle Shape

Many women feel "doomed" with the body that they have been given, but at SAVOUR Clothing, we're here to encourage you. Your body is perfect for you and we are here to help you look your best.

As an Rectangle Shape, your shoulders, bust and hips are the same width. While most rectangle shapes tend to have an athletic build, they do lack a defined waist.

What is SO fun about rectangle shapes is that we get to play with PUFFS and PLEATS and RUFFLES. We get to ADD volume to parts of your wardrobe that we can't with other body shapes. Hi, this is Katelyn and I'm jealous because I love that stuff.

Top 3 Things For Rectangle Shapes To Remember

1) Give Yourself A Waist - ALWAYS

You want to always give yourself a waist with every article of clothing you are wearing - tops, pants, jackets and more! The "wrap" style and belts are your best friend.

2) Play With Volume

You have a huge advantage because you can add volume to all parts of your body with outfits. Think puff sleeves, pleated pants and bootcut bottoms.

3) Bring It In

Avoid clothing that is TOO loose or TOO fitted. It's best to wear flowing clothing that you can bring "in" with a belt or with details that bring the garment in at the waist.

How To Highlight Your Shape With What You Wear:

TOPS:
Button Down, Wrap, Ruffles and Puff Sleeves

A wrap top is a rectangle shape CLASSIC choice, you will never go wrong:

Button down tops are another great choice for rectangle shapes, you can cheat if the top lacks structure by belting it:

JACKETS:

Hip Length or Longer, Nipped At Waist or Belted

The perfect hip length blazer, slightly nipped in at the waist. Even unbuttoned, it still gives definition around the waist:

PANTS:

Low Rise, Mid Rise, Bootcut

Another tip for you is to wear light colored pants, it draws attention away from the waist. It was fun to pair these pants with a button down top and jacket, layers will give you shape:

SKIRTS & DRESSES:

Empire Waist, Wrap Dresses, Slight Flare

A beautiful look would be a fitted bodysuit with a high-waisted A-line maxi skirt. As for dresses, my favorite cut on you would be a flare or empire waist dress. Here are two examples:
